Andrea Rieger-Jandl is head of the Master´s program Architecture – Green Building at the University of Applied Sciences FH Campus Wien, she is associate professor at the department of History of Architecture and Building Research at the Vienna University of Technology and chair of the Austrian Earth Building Network. She completed her architectural studies at the Vienna University of Technology supplemented by three study terms in the USA (IIT Chicago, MIT Boston, UC Berkeley), her doctoral studies at the Faculty of Cultural and Social Sciences at the University of Vienna and habilitated at the Vienna University of Technology with a venia docendi in cross-cultural research on architecture. As architectural scholar and anthropologist, her research focuses on ecological and socio-cultural sustainability. Her teaching focuses on ecological construction, vernacular architecture, earthen architecture, architecture and identity, building in the development context with focus on hands-on experiences, participatory processes and multidisciplinary collaborations.
